Central Insulations - Case Studies

Case Studies
Specification, design & build, to suit all applications, for all controlled environments
Clyde Tunnel, Glasgow
Central Insulation won this contract based on their expertise, high standards and pro active input.
The complexity of this project demanded a significant level of performance and specialist experience.
Project Specification
The brief was to use a self-supporting, walk-on product, with non-combustible properties. It was to form a false ceiling creating a duct, whereby vehicle fumes would be extracted from both ends of each tunnel. Rockwool cored, composite panel with a black surface finish was chosen.
This product was selected given its ease of installation and its ability to fulfil all the specified criteria requested. It also enabled large surface areas to be completed during each shift.
Meticulous Planning and Precision Installation
The Clyde Tunnel project was meticulously planned, as the construction work could only take place at specific times throughout the night, while one tunnel was closed to vehicles. To avoid major traffic congestion each tunnel had to open on time every morning. This high specification project was completed within budget and on time.
